On March 02, 2026, the Iran Tasnim news agency said their missiles destroyed Benjamin Netanyahu’s office as well as the Israeli military headquarters. “The Prime Minister’s compound and the headquarters of the Israeli air force were subjected to severe strikes by the armed forces of Iran.” [1] The agency claimed there was a possibility that Netanyahu was either killed or injured, clearly stating this was an opinion derived from the circumstances, and that they had no confirmation. I would note that Tasnim specifically said it was the Hebrew-language sources (in Israel) that were raising most of the questions about Netanyahu’s condition. Further investigation has produced no firm evidence either way, but the surrounding circumstances have raised some curious questions. We will examine these, beginning with the trivial and progressing to the more important.

Israeli authorities derided the claims as “fake news”, but then according to the Israelis, the genocide in Gaza is fake news, as is the famine in Gaza, as was the bombing of all the hospitals. The Times of Israel told us that “Netanyahu’s office rejected the Iranian reports” and said the prime minister was alive and continuing his work (of destroying Lebanon, among other things). Western mainstream media (US/UK/Canada) coverage of this was minimal to none. Canada’s Globe and Mail published a hateful and juvenile opinion piece on March 18, 2026, dismissing the claims as “AI-slop propaganda”. No idea why they did that, because Iran simply reported on military strikes, stated no propaganda, and didn’t post anything AI. But the Globe is Jewish-controlled and bitterly hates Iran. [2] By contrast, Indian and Asian outlets had extensive coverage of the topic, including forensic analysis and one supposed diplomatic confirmation. This disparity of coverage between East and West raises legitimate questions that would interest any investigative analyst. The Western media’s silence on the Iranian information, while not evidence of Netanyahu’s death, is evidence of somethingwhether editorial discretion, skepticism of the source, a deliberate de-platforming of narratives originating from Iranian state media, or a desire to protect Israel. [3] [4]

The Six-Fingered Hand

Source: YouTube video from Israeli Government Press Office

Perhaps the first major source of public doubt was a brief YouTube video of Netanyahu speaking, where he definitely (at least to my eyes) does indeed appear to have six fingers on his right hand. Snopes [5] and PolitiFact [6] swiftly debunked the claim, proving that what appeared to be an extra finger was merely an optical illusion caused by the natural bulge of the palm near the base of the little finger. However, lost in the noise was the fact that other AI experts and chatbots stated the video was definitely AI-generatedThe fact-checkers had the microphone and the others didn’t[7]

This particular video received attention far beyond its value. There are other videos and real circumstances that together create much greater doubts about Netanyahu. The reason I am dwelling on it is that the refutation of the claims against this video is a perfect example of what we term a “straw man” argument. This is a logical fallacy where someone misrepresents an opponent’s position to make it easier to attack. We either distort or exaggerate, or oversimplify an argument, then attack this distorted version instead of the original. This creates the illusion of refuting the opponent’s position while actually addressing a weaker or inaccurate version of it. [8] In this case, whether Netanyahu has five fingers, six fingers, or no fingers, is irrelevant to the question of the video being AI-generated. When you have a single-color bland background with no detail anywhere and the only material object in the video is a person’s face to which you must synchronise mouth movements with the words, it is easily possible to generate an AI video that would confound even the experts. The “straw man” part of this is that the “experts” and the “fact-checkers” took the single item of the extra finger and blew it up out of all proportion, then based their “judgment” of the entire video on their dismissal of the extra finger. But if we ignore the factor of the extra finger, we still have the original problem that the video could easily have been AI-generatedAnd, in my view, almost certainly was.

The expert teams cited (the Deepfakes Rapid Response Force at WITNESS, etc.) may be respected in digital forensics, but they operate within a specific institutional context. Their funding, their public stances on “disinformation”, and their relationships with government and tech platforms are all relevant to their potential biases. Note too that the “forensic teams” did not release their raw data, or methodology beyond summary statements. Their conclusion that the video was “authentic” was presented with an authority that discouraged further questioning. In a case where the subject has every incentive to project normalcy, treating a third‑party forensic report as conclusive would be naïve. In this case, the instinct that the experts were “using creative imagination to fulfill an agenda” is a legitimate investigative hypothesis.

Importantly, as part of my earlier series on Propaganda and the Media, Part 7 on Fact-Checking is worth reading in this context. [9] The article exposes the ownership, political connections, the agenda, and the absolutely astonishing dishonesty of the so-called “fact-checkers”. This is so true that they should be ignored altogether. Or banned. Or all in prison for fraud. In that Chapter I wrote: “In our world today, who desperately needs to be “fact-checked“? The mass media, of course. And, in today’s world, who owns, funds, and controls the entire fact-checking infrastructure and conducts all the fact-checks? The mass media, of course. So, the inmates are running the asylum and the foxes are guarding the henhouse. What could possibly go wrong?”

“First, let’s disabuse ourselves of the foolish notion that the fact-checking performed today actually involves any checking of facts. It does not. The primary purpose of this industry is not a search for truth but is instead an insidious form of censorship, one final way of tightening the string around the sack of information to prevent the escape of inconvenient truths and, if they do escape, to club them to death at birth. A powerful secondary purpose of fact-checking is to bury knowledge of the crimes and atrocities and to protect [the criminals] from public censure. The only requirement for success is a gullible and uninformed public.”

The Coffee Shop Video

Consider the coffee shop video. If you haven’t seen it, Netanyahu was walking around with a cup of coffee, showing his five fingers, and proving he was alive. In spite of some assurance by “fact-checkers”, the video was widely denounced as an AI-generated fake.

In the coffee video, several things stand out. First, Netanyahu was carrying a coffee cup filled absolutely to the brim, with not even 1 mm to spare. Yet he wandered around, waving his hands, taking a sip of coffee – but never spilled a drop. The “professional expert explanation” was “surface tension”, but that is just damned ridiculous. Surface tension will not prevent coffee from slopping over when the cup is full to the brim. Even a slight lateral motion will create a wave that spills the coffee out of the cup. Every one of us can personally testify to this from multiple experiences. From reading the expert opinions of the validity of that coffee shop video, it seemed apparent to me that those experts were not only biased in their approach, but using creative imagination to fulfill an unidentified agenda. [10]

The “surface tension” argument is not only weak; it’s an insult to intelligence. A cup filled to the brim—as the video showed—would spill with even minimal lateral movement. Surface tension might hold a meniscus slightly above the rim in perfect stillness, but any natural motion of lifting, tilting, or walking would break it. The fact that the coffee remained precisely at the brim without any meniscus bulge or spill during Netanyahu’s movements is not exculpatory because it’s impossible.

While this may seem trivial at first glance, it is a serious deviation because if the goal is simply to prove you are alive and in command, the most efficient, unambiguous method is to simply hold a live – and unscripted – press conference with domestic and international media, taking questions. Alternatively, give a live address to the Knesset, or perhaps take a public walk through a government building with visible security and press photographers. Each of these options would produce simultaneous, multi‑source verification that would be nearly impossible to fake or dispute. They are also normal political behavior after any security incident. Instead, the response was a short, scripted, and rather stupid, social media video shot in a café (not an official setting), with no live interaction, no other people visible, and no accompanying press pool. That is why the video was immediately contested as AI‑generated, forcing a second video outdoors, which was also questioned for similar reasons.

Benjamin Netanyahu Video Frequency

Another of the circumstantial items that lend credence to the suspicion that Netanyahu may be dead, relates to Netanyahu’s video postings. The man normally makes and posts at least one short video a day on social media, sometimes several video posts, making statements about various topicsBut these posts stopped abruptly at the time of Iran’s attack.

In an article on March 10, 2026, Tasnim stated that the latest available footage of Netanyahu was a brief video released earlier that day, and no further images or videos of him had surfaced since. [11] At precisely that time, the daily video pattern disappeared and Netanyahu’s office shifted to a different communications strategy. This might have reflected security concerns, but the documented fact remains that between the March attacks and the March 15 cafe video, there was a period with no live video confirmationThis was a definite deviation from the established pattern.

The official version is that there is substantial evidence disproving the suspicion of Netanyahu’s death. The March 15-20 video appearances, forensic authentication, and an apparent diplomatic confirmation, appear to collectively establish that he is alive. However, things are not always as they initially seem, and circumstantial analysis raises valid doubts that cannot be dismissed. The absence of daily videos, the flawed proof-of-life video, and the Western media silence are all legitimate red flags. The media version is that Netanyahu has made multiple live appearances since the March attacks. These included the coffee shop video, a second outdoor video on March 16, a video message to Iranians on March 17, with the most recent at the time of writing being a school-reopening address on March 20 which was a video message in Hebrew posted on Twitter (X). However, once again, things are not always as they seem.

There were other items in dispute as well. One website – boomlive.in – dealt with these issues as well as any other. But in reading their explanations of the various anomalies, it is impossible to avoid the feeling of being gaslighted. Reading the “expert explanations” for the anomalies reminded me how the US military, when considering UFO reports, seemed to always dismiss everything as “a weather balloon”. In many cases, it might have been a weather balloon, but in some others the response was clearly incorrect. The intent there, and here, seemed maddeningly to be to silence further questioning. The explanations left me with a strong impression that anything even remotely plausible was sufficient, with little regard for either logic or truth. For example, it was noted that Netanyahu’s coffee cup remained perfectly full even after drinking repeatedly. The “weather balloon” explanation was that the man took very small sips.

But this raises a deeper issue: If I were the leader of a country dealing with a matter as serious as rumors of my death during wartime, probably the last thing I would do would be to make a personal video that was thoughtless, containing juvenile humor, and post it on social media. If I thought the rumors required silencing, I wouldn’t even address them directly. I would simply hold a brief news conference with domestic and foreign media, and make statements about any topic. That would prove I was alive, while not descending to the juvenile use of social media. It isn’t easy to define, but something seems to be wrong here.

The choice of medium is itself a piece of evidence. In investigative work, when a subject chooses an unusual, easily contestable method of communication over a conventional, irrefutable one, it is a red flag. It is of course possible that there was an internal constraint, where perhaps Netanyahu was incapacitated but not dead, or perhaps a political/security reason to avoid a live, unscripted appearance. But we have no knowledge of those, and the unusual pattern suggests either of two things. One is that the decision‑makers were not anticipating the AI‑skeptic backlasha surprising lack of sophistication for a government that has extensively used AI‑generated propaganda in this conflict. The second is that the video was indeed the hypothesised AI product.

Meetings, Public Appearances

There are additional major circumstantial points to consider here, a main one being that, aside from the videos, Netanyahu has made no public appearances with other officials. In the days following the video releases, Netanyahu has not appeared in any photo or video alongside other Israeli cabinet members, military leaders, or foreign dignitaries. The March 17 holiday greeting to Iranians was a solo video that could have easily been AI-generated. The March 20 school‑reopening address was again solo, with no interaction. For nearly a month, Netanyahu has made no major policy announcements requiring his physical presence. The school‑reopening statement is low‑stakes, but if the Prime Minister were alive and fully functional, one would expect him to appear at a cabinet meeting, a security briefing, or alongside the military chief of staff—especially after a major missile attack on military headquarters. The fact that there has been no public appearance with other officials, and that his mandated appearance at government functions have been abruptly canceled, actually raises huge red flags. Given that solo videos are the most easily-faked, this in itself is almost begging to be disputed.

Let’s take a look at a timeline of Netanyahu’s public appearances since March 1, noting format, location, presence of others, and whether any were live/unscripted. I also looked for independent Israeli press reports about the government’s communications strategy during this period—whether journalists were given access, whether scheduled briefings were canceled, etc. The findings are significant, and support suspicions that something is anomalous.

The Times of Israel and other Jewish/Israeli media claimed they were dismissing the rumors of Netanyahu’s death by pointing out that Netanyahu visited the site of a missile strike in Beit Shemesh and spoke publicly about it. Except that Netanyahu never visited there. He had a scheduled trip to Beit Shemesh on March 2, but the Yemen news agency confirmed it had been abruptly canceled along with the other meetings. [12] This claim, and others similar, instead of dispelling the rumors, simply added fuel to the fire.

The silence period from March 9-15 is documented with specific missed events like the March 10 abruptly-canceled meeting with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and without explanation. On March 11Netanyahu was absent from Security Council meetings where his attendance was mandatory, and in fact they would not proceed without him. On March 12, 2026, the Prime Minister’s Office posted a message asking citizens to ignore rumors about Netanyahu’s (alive or dead) condition. The post was then suddenly deleted—a move that analysts immediately flagged as highly unusual. Then, the March 14 war cabinet meeting was chaired by Katz instead of Netanyahu, who would have automatically chaired it but was again apparently absent. In addition, Netanyahu’s son Yairnormally an extremely active social media user (50–60 posts daily)went completely silent on March 9 and remained so until he finally recommenced posts around March 20th. [13] The “response videos” began March 15 with the cafe video, followed by the outdoor Jerusalem Hills video on March 16. When we examine Israeli media access, several sources note the same pattern.

From the date of the missile attacks, Netanyahu held no public appearances with other officials. In the days following the video releases, Netanyahu has not appeared in any photo or video alongside other Israeli cabinet members, military leaders, or foreign dignitaries. A March 17 holiday greeting to Iranians was a solo video. A March 20 school‑reopening address was again solo, with no interaction. Both of those fall into the category of easily-made AI videos. Additionally, since the original date, there have been no major policy announcements requiring Netanyahu’s physical presence. The school‑reopening statement is low‑stakes. If the prime minister were alive and fully functional, one would expect him to appear at a cabinet meeting, a security briefing, or alongside the military chief of staff—especially after a major missile attack on military headquarters. This in itself is almost begging to us to consider the videos as AI-generated. If the video were real and all circumstances normal, why would the Prime Minister of a country waste his time with foolish childish videos instead of attending security and Cabinet meetings? Additionally, Reuters reported that media access to Netanyahu was “restricted”, with no live interviews, and videos or photos suddenly distributed only by his office rather than through press pools.

Timeline of Netanyahu Public Appearances (March 1–20, 2026)

The “old Bibi” once sought to unite the country, until hubris and self-preservation took hold… Source

The following timeline is compiled from multiple independent news sources, including Reuters, Israeli, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, and Middle Eastern media.

Date        Event/Appearance     Format         Location        Presence of Others      Live/Unscripted

March 1        No public appearances; Security Council meeting canceled

March 2        Visit to Beit Shemesh canceled amid speculation about his condition

March 7        National television address. A scripted video with no one else visible, easily AI-generated; last public address before the gap.

March 10       Meeting with US envoys (Kushner and Witkoff) abruptly canceled without explanation. Only a text statement issued.

March 11       Absent from Security Council meeting; no public activity recorded

March 12       First “proof of life” obviously scripted video in press conference format, unknown location, no others present.

March 14       Absent from War Cabinet meeting (chaired by Defense Minister Katz)

March 15       Jerusalem Cafe video (scripted): Netanyahu joking about death rumors, showing hands to camera

March 16       Jerusalem Hills outdoor video: walking, interacting with civilians, posing for photos. Apparently unscripted. Date questionable.

March 17       Holiday greeting to Iranians. Scripted video in unknown location with no others visible.

March 20       School reopening address. Clearly scripted, done in an unknown location, no others visible.

The problem with all the videos is that they are clearly scripted, and could very easily have been AI-generated. Speeches that are spontaneous, and with media reporters who ask unpredictable questions, are more likely to be real.

Critical Anomalies in the Timeline

‘Ordering the Elimination of Iranian Leaders’: Netanyahu’s Office Shares New Photo of Israeli PM Amid Death Rumours | Image: X. Source

During this period, multiple Security Council meetings were held without Netanyahu, as were Cabinet meetings and War Department meetingsScheduled meetings (Kushner, Witkoff) or public visits (Beit Shemesh) were abruptly canceled without explanation, but amid speculation about Netanyahu’s condition. Also during this time, and extending to the day of writing (March 23, 2026), only text statements were issued from Netanyahu’s office. Perhaps most telling is that there have been zero appearances alongside other government officials. In none of the scripted video appearances is Netanyahu in the frame with any other Israeli cabinet member, military chief, or foreign dignitary.

Reuters reported that since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28Netanyahu has visited at least two towns hit by Iranian missiles, a hospital, port and military bases, but there was little to no media access, and videos were distributed by his office. This is a documented departure from standard practice. When a leader is alive and functioning, media pools typically accompany visits. Here, his office controlled the footage entirely. In this case, it is possible that media attendance was restricted because war damage in Israel is heavily censored. Taking video of missiles approaching, or of the damage done, is punishable by 5 years in prison.

Netanyahu convened his first press conference since the war began, – via video link, not in person. A live, in-person press conference would have immediately ended speculation about Netanyahu’s death. The choice of a video-only format was an invitation to AI skepticism. The government cited emergency safety restrictions, such as public gatherings being banned, schools closed, and civilians confined to shelters. These restrictions are real and would limit a traditional press conference. However, they would not prevent a photograph of Netanyahu with Katz or the military chief, or a five-minute press pool camera access at a secure location. Nor would they have prevented a joint statement on camera with a visiting dignitary. The lack of appearances with other officials is well-documented. Combined with the restricted media access and the deleted PMO post, the circumstantial case for something anomalous remains strong—even if we accept the official conclusion that Netanyahu is alive.

One result from research is that other high-ranking officials have appeared in public, have held press conferences, have visited damaged areas in various cities, all with media attendance. For example, Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the Arad impact site on March 21, with accompanying photos and a video in Hebrew. Ben-Gvir has also appeared with other officials—Police Commissioner Danny Levi, Fire Commissioner Eyal Caspi, and Negev Galilee Minister Yitzhak Wasserlaufwhich directly contrasts with Netanyahu‘s solo appearances. It is important to note that these were not PMO-distributed videos. They were live visits with documented press coverage, precisely what Netanyahu did not do.

Furthermore, several Israeli media claimed that Netanyahu also visited the Arad site, so why no pictures? Why would the two men – Ben-Gvir and Netanyahu – not visit the site together? And if not, why would one have many visible officials, citizens and media reporters, and the other nothing at all? Thinking of the March 20 Security Council meeting it was claimed Netanyahu attended: the security meetings would almost certainly include the same individuals every time. Thus, the photo of the March 20 meeting could have been taken at any time prior. And being an internal photo distributed by the PMO, it has no value as proof.

The Ben‑Gvir Arad visit is the critical anomaly in this picture. Netanyahu allegedly visited Arad as well, yet there are no independent images of him there, while Ben‑Gvir was photographed with multiple officials and press. If security restrictions were the barrier, why were they lifted for Ben‑Gvir but not for the Prime Minister? If the visit happened, why photos only with Ben-Gvir? In a country where everyone has a camera, a prime minister’s visit would generate dozens of social media posts unless security was actively suppressing them (possible, but then why not suppress Ben‑Gvir’s images?). If the visit did not happen, the claim that Netanyahu visited Arad may itself be disinformation—a verbal assertion without visual proof, designed to bolster the narrative without risking an uncontrolled appearance. The fact that Ben‑Gvir could appear in a multi‑official, press‑documented setting proves that the censorship/security excuse does not categorically prevent such appearances. It prevents them only for Netanyahu. That is a glaring inconsistency.

One Remaining Outlier

From my research, the March 16 outdoor video is the single piece of evidence that contradicts all the other anomalies. It contradicts the otherwise consistent pattern of controlled, solo, easily contestable releases. If that video can be explained away—or if its authenticity can be genuinely questioned—the circumstantial case for death or incapacitation becomes significantly stronger.

We must try to settle this. We have good resources here because several Indian and Israeli media outlets covered this. The video, 90 seconds long and distributed by the Prime Minister’s Office, depicts Netanyahu walking outdoors in the Jerusalem Hills. The findings, while not conclusive, serve to contradict the official narrative in important ways. Crucially, multiple sources have noted that Netanyahu in the Jerusalem Hills was “wearing the same clothes” as in the previous cafe video. And the geographic consistency is significant. The Jerusalem Hills overlook very near the Sataf cafe where the coffee shop video purportedly was made. This would lead to speculation that both videos were produced by the same lazy AI team. They would have been released sequentially to lead viewer conclusions as to continuity. This is a classic information management tactic: create a “breadcrumb trail” of content that suggests ongoing presence when none exists.

And, the new ring anomaly introduced a fresh complication. Keen observers noticed Netanyahu’s ring appearing and disappearing as he moved his arm, naturally leading to more AI allegations. This is the sixth-finger controversy all over again, just with a different body part. According to Asianet Newsable, keen observers noted that in the March 16 video, a ring on Netanyahu’s finger appears to vanish as he moves his arm, prompting speculation that the footage is AI-generated. [14] This is a visual anomaly that can be explained either as an AI glitch or as a camera artifact. The existence of such anomalies in both the March 15 and March 16 videos is worth noting. If the March 16 video were a genuine, unaltered recording, why does it contain anomalies similar to those in the video that was flagged as AI-generated?

To add fuel to the fire, the content of the March 16 video is very carefully generic. There are no references to events that would permit dating the contents. It could have been filmed (or AI-generated) at any time. The video was distributed by the Prime Minister’s Office. No independent journalist was present. The civilians in the video are not identified; they could be real people or AI images. No one in the video has come forward publicly to confirm the date or context of the interaction.

This March 16 video is important for another reason. We can argue that the coffee shop video was created (or filmed, if you insist) to convince the world that Benjamin Netanyahu was alive and well. Okay, but the March 16 video was for what? It had no purpose, and the last thing Netanyahu does is roam around the rural areas of Israel and chat with the peasants. This video was created – and released so quickly – only because the coffee shop video attracted such a huge flurry of accusations of being an AI-generated fraud. It didn’t work; this video attracted as much or more negative attention, for all the same reasons.

Diplomatic Intervention

Reuven Azar was Israel’s Ambassador to India. Source

Then, to make matters worse, as if we needed them to be worse, we have some “diplomatic support”. The Israeli media and a few Western ones, made a fuss about an “Indian Ambassador” confirming that he’d had multiple visits and conversations with Netanyahu during the period of his (Netanyahu’s) absence. But it turned out that the Indian Ambassador was actually a Jew. Reuven Azar was Israel’s Ambassador to India, who claimed that he had seen Netanyahu personally “more than once” when he was in Israel, and that the coffee shop video was authentic. However, note carefully: Azar said he saw Netanyahu ” more than once when I was in Israel”, but carefully omitted any confirmation that these visits occurred in the days following the attacks. This is careful diplomatic wording designed to confirm nothing. Then we have a point raised by the Iranian news source, which was a supposed phone call between French President Emmanuel Macron and Netanyahu. But the French presidential office released only a written summary of the conversation, without audio or video, and was careful to not mention the exact date. [15]

Epilogue

Here is a scenario that fits all the facts: Netanyahu was killed or incapacitated in the March attacks. The inner circle decided on a cover-up to avoid immediate political and military collapse. They either used pre-existing footage or created AI videos showing Netanyahu at the Sataf cafe and the Jerusalem Hills. The videos were released sequentially to suggest ongoing activity. The ring anomaly and other visual inconsistencies are AI artifacts. This scenario explains: The absence of any uncontrolled appearances with other officials, the same clothing and location across two “consecutive days”, the careful generic content of both videos, the visual anomalies that keep triggering AI suspicion, why Ben-Gvir could appear at Arad with other officials but Netanyahu could not. Unfortunately, without the proverbial “smoking gun” or, in this case, a dead body, our work is all conjecture.

Despite our best efforts, we have not resolved the core ambiguity. The only definitive way to prove Netanyahu alive is an independent, uncontrolled appearance with other officials, which hasn’t happened. We have layers of circumstantial evidence but no decisive proof either way. This is the hypothesis the Iranian speculation raised. The consistent absence of any uncontrolled appearance—especially alongside other top officials—would be consistent with a cover‑up. The Israelis might hide a Prime Minister’s death for such a long period. If Netanyahu were dead, the most likely result would be an immediate political and military collapse.

While none of the listed circumstantial anomalies necessarily indicate a death, they definitely indicate that something quite important occurred beneath the public surface. And this is our problem: For Netanyahu specifically, the pattern remains unresolved. A prime minister who is alive and fully functioning should be able to appear alongside his defense minister and military chief in a setting not controlled exclusively by his own office. That has not yet happened. Nor has Netanyahu provably appeared alive anywhere. So, we seem to be left with the conclusion that Benjamin Netanyahu is either dead or alive. I believe that is where we began.
